A different type of flu, the novel H1N1 (or swine flu) has been in the news recently. Fortunately, H1N1 influenza is mild in most cases. According to the CDC, the key populations to receive the vaccine include pregnant women, people who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age, healthcare personnel, persons between the ages of 6 months and 24 years old, and people between the ages of 25 through 64 years of age who are at higher risk for novel H1N1 because of chronic health disorders. Some researchers are advocating the immunization of most children over the age of 6 months and their care-giving adults to help stop the spread of H1N1. For up to date recommendations we recommend you visit www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu

Our staff has been trained to help you decide whether you or a family member needs to be seen by one of our providers. If you are diagnosed with the flu, click here for more information. We have Monday evening, Saturday, and same-day appointments to better serve your needs.
